Miami-Ball State Results 
OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University's senior swimmers and divers won six events to lead the RedHawk men past Ball State, 161-135, at the Nixon Aquatic Center.
It was the final home meet of the 2008-09 season and nine seniors were honored. Those competing for the last time at Nixon were Jason Bank (Farmington Hills, MI), Brooks Cowan (Troy, MI), Justin Dankovich (Greenville, SC), Scott DuCharme (Rochester Hills, MI), Nick DuPuis (Atlanta, GA), Chris Heaton (Centerville), Davis Mello (Brentwood, TN), ANDY NEFF (Chesterland) and Zac Siegel (Wilmette, IL).
Heaton made his home finale a memorable one, setting pool records in both the one-meter (385.20) and the three-meter events (422.55).
Other seniors who won individual events included Dankovich in the 100 backstroke (:53.73), Neff in the 200 butterfly (1:54.70), DuPuis in the 200 backstroke (non-scoring), DuCharme in the 500 freestyle (4:49.93) and Bank in the 400 individual medley (4:11.18).
Sophomore Darin Smith (Barksdale AFB, LA) joined Heaton as a double winner, capturing both the 200 freestyle (1:44.99) and the 100 butterfly (non-scoring, 4:45.35). Junior MIKE CARROLL (Toledo) won the 100 breaststroke (:58.45) and was a member of the winning 200 medley relay unit. Carroll's three mates on the relay were Tom Janszen (Cincinnati), ROB JACKSON (Cincinnati) and Mark Healey (Jenison, MI).
The only other RedHawk to post a first-place score was MATT GRUBB (Centerville) in the 200 backstroke (1:57.52).
Coach Pete Lindsay's team now begins preparation for the MAC/Sun Belt Championships in Nashville.
"We're starting the see front-end speed," said Lindsay. "The breaststrokers and butterfly swimmers are really beginning to come around. Overall, I was pleased with what I saw."
Altogether, there were 28 season-best times and marks posted by Lindsay's team against Ball State. The list included:
