BOWLING GREEN, Ohio--The Mid-American Conference women's swimming and diving championship returned to Miami University for the first time in four years as Coach Dave Jenning's RedHawks topped Ohio University, 639.5 to 611.5, at Bowling Green's Student Recreation Center.
Two more Miami swimmers won individual championships, including sophomore Kelsey Vehr (Cincinnati) in the 200 breaststroke (2:12.22) and senior Alyson Schmidt (Maineville) in the 100 freestyle (:48.98). Junior Kasey Carpenter (Cincinnati) took second in the 200 backstroke. Three-meter divers Melissa Roemmele (Lexington, KY) and Kelsey Anagnos (St. Louis, MO) placed third and sixth, respectively. Junior Allison Way (Omaha, NE) placed fifth in the 200 butterfly. And Miami's 400 freestyle relay team of SARAH RADKE (Cincinnati), Allison Stevens, Malarie Schmidt and Alyson Schmidt placed third.
