Miami Topped by The College of Charleston, 14-8

CHARLESTON, S.C. - The Miami baseball team came out on the losing end of back and forth battle with The College of Charleston on Sunday afternoon, 14-8 at Patriots Point Stadium.
The RedHawks found themselves in a 5-1 hole after six innings but the Red and White rallied in the top of the seventh for five runs with three of them coming with two outs. The comeback began with a two-run single by Tommy Nurre (Cincinnati, Ohio). After Chris Nadeau (Saline, Mich.) flew out to left Zak Hatfield (Fort Wayne, Ind.) had the big hit of the game. Hatfield drove in three runs with his second homerun in as many days.
The lead was short lived however as The College of Charleston battled back for five runs of its own in the bottom of the seventh. The Cougars followed their five-run seventh inning with a four-run eighth inning as they picked up the weekend sweep of the RedHawks.
Next weekend the RedHawks will travel to the Wake Forest Invitation in Winston-Salem, N.C. Miami will open the invitational against the college of William and Mary on Feb. 27.
