Heaton Earns MAC Swimmer of the Week Honors

CLEVELAND, Ohio -- Miami senior diver Chris Heaton has been named Men's Swimmer of the Week by the Mid-American Conference, the league office announced today.

A native of Centerville, Heaton had a record-setting Senior Day performance against Ball State on Saturday. He established conference, school and pool marks in both the one-and three-meter events.

In the one-meter competition, he edged teammate Jimmy Beres with a score of 385.20 (Beres had 384.10), breaking Heaton's own MAC mark. In the three-meter event, he scored a spectacular 422.55.

Miami returns to action next week when it competes in the 30th Annual Mid-American Conference Swimming Championship.
