Former Golfer Adam Speirs Wins Greater Vancouver Charity Classic

Former Miami University men's golfer Adam Speirs captured the Greater Vancouver Charity Classic by one shot to seize his first win on the Canadian Tour.
Speirs, who led the field by a shot heading into the final round, shot an even par 72 en route to the win. He birdied the 16th and 17th holes and pared the 18th hole.
He opened the tournament, firing 67s in the first two rounds and followed with a 69 in the third round before carding a 72 in the final round. For the tournament, Speirs finished at 13-under par 275.
Speirs edged Wes Heffernan and Byron Smith by one stroke.
It was the seventh event on the tour for Speirs this season who has made six cuts in 2008.
