Dwyer Wins Decathlon at Clemson Relays, Hits NCAA Provisional Mark

CLEMSON, S.C. - Several members of the Miami University men's track and field team competed at the Clemson Relays this weekend in Clemson, S.C., taking first in the decathlon and earning a second place finish in the hammer throw.
Kevin Dwyer won the decathlon, scoring 7066 points, the third most points in Miami history and meeting the NCAA Outdoor provisional mark. Michael McCarty was 12th with 6011 points.
Dan Beach took second place in the hammer throw with a mark of 186-2, the fifth-best throw in Red-and-White history and just two inches shy of the NCAA Regional provisional mark. He also took fourth in the discus with a throw of 157-3.
The RedHawks will host the Southern Ohio Cup this coming Saturday, March 29 at the Rider Track on the Miami campus in Oxford, Ohio.
