RedHawks Take Second at Ball State Triangular

MUNCIE, Ind. - The Miami University women's track and field team took second at the Ball State triangular meet on Friday night.
Western Michigan won the meet with 114.5 points, while Miami's 94.5 points edged the third-place Cardinals who had 89.
Betsy Allen won the 400-meter dash with a time of 57.28. Andrea Tepe took third in the event at 59.21.
Kristina Bolterstein won the high jump at 5-7, while Kristen Mathews was second at 5-5. Britney Bernardoni took second in the pole vault after dropping the jump off and ending at a height of 12-0.
Margarita Pogorelov took second in the 60-meter dash, posting a time of 7.59. She would later finish third in the 200-meter dash with a time of 25.43.
DeLana Turner took second in the 60-meter hurdles at 8.66 seconds and fourth in the 60-meter dash at 7.92.
Jennie Stoll finished second in the mile run with a time of 5:03.06, while Katie Lenahan and Madeline Schork finished second and third, respectively in the 800 meters with times of 2:10.71 and 2:19.20.
Julie Roche was second in the 3000-meters with a time of 10:39.19.
The RedHawk 4X400 meter relay team took third at 3:57.53.
Alexis Lape was sixth in the long jump with a mark of 17-5 1/4, while Magda Wikar was seventh at 17-3 ¼. Alicia Jones took seventh in the shot put with a mark of 37-5 ¾.
Hope Alexander was third in the triple jump, bounding 37-4 and ninth in the weight throw with a distance of 41-7 ¼.
The RedHawks will look to capture the Mid-American Conference Indoor Track and Field Championship next weekend when they travel to Eastern Michigan University on Friday and Saturday.
