Super Fan Week Starts Tonight!

OXFORD, Ohio — Super Fan Week, a week-long series of home athletic events, begins tonight with Miami’s weekend ice hockey series against Ferris State and continues through next weekend’s volleyball two-match homestand.
In addition to ice hockey and volleyball, Super Fan Week also features Miami Madness on Monday to tip off the basketball season and Tuesday night’s nationally-televised football game against Ball State.
Along with meeting the 2008-09 Miami men’s and women’s basketball teams, Miami Madness will be filled with games and prizes and is open to the public. Students can sign up for a chance at a half-court shot for FREE text books from DuBois Bookstore. The Student Slam Dunk Contest winner will receive FREE wings for a year from Buffalo Wild Wings for the contest winner and a friend. To enter the Slam Dunk Contest, e-mail MiamiRedAlert@yahoo.com. There also will be a 24-Second Hot Shot Contest. Student’s wearing red and white will be eligible to take part in raffles and receive prizes.
Additionally, Miami's men's basketball team hosts Saginaw Valley State at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 8 in an exhibition tilt, while the women's basketball team hosts the Hoosier Lady Stars in exhibition action on Sunday, Nov. 9 at 2 p.m.
Miami students who attend all six featured events (listed below) will win a Super Fan Prize Pack. To be eligible for the prize, pick up a Super Fan Card at the Red Alert table at the Nov. 7 ice hockey game.
