Miami's Men's Swimming and Diving Team Announces Recruits

OXFORD, Ohio -- Men's swimming coach Pete Lindsay announced Thursday (Nov. 20) that two talented out-of-state prep swimmers and an all-star diver from Cincinnati have signed National Letters-of-Intent to compete at Miami University.
Freestylers ALEX REINHARDT from Littleton, Colo., and THOMAS DELVES of St. Charles, Ill., and diver MICHAEL GRAINGER from Cincinnati comprise Miami's class of 2013.
Lindsay says that this trio could help place Miami's swimming and diving squad into the upper echelon of the Mid-American Conference.
"This talented group of students will allow us to position ourselves for a more competitive finish at the MAC/Sun Belt Championships," said Lindsay.
Complete biographical sketches of the new student-athletes follow:
Alex Reinhardt (Littleton,Colo./Regis Jesuit High School): A first-team All-Colorado selection last year, he also was a member of the USA Swimming Scholastic All-America Team. Reinhardt swims the 200 and 500 Freestyles for his high school squad and for the Colorado Stars Swim Team.
Miami coach Pete Lindsay on Reinhardt: "Alex Reinhardt is a versatile swimmer across a wide range of distances. His 500 freestyle talent will help sustain Miami's great middle distance tradition."
Thomas Delves (St. Charles, IL/Marmion Academy): Swims the freestyle events, with his best events being the 100 and 200. Has competed at the YMCA Nationals with the B.R. Ryall YMCA Team.
Miami coach Pete Lindsay on Delves: "Thomas Delves will contribute to our strengths in the middle distance and sprint freestyles. His championship experience will greatly strengthen our freestyle relays."
Michael Grainger (Cincinnati/Indian Hill High School): Placed third at the Ohio high school state meet last year in one meter diving behind current RedHawk rookies Jim Beres and Cameron Horner. He won his third consecutive district title. Dives with the Tri- State Diving Club.
