Miami Golfers Tie for Fifth at Jaguar Invitational

MOBILE, Ala.--Miami University's golf team finished in a tie for fifth place among the 12-team field at the South Alabama Jaguar Invitational. The RedHawks finished in a three-way tie with Louisiana-Monroe and Mercer University with a team score of 866.
Junior Ben Bastel paced the RedHawks, tying for 20th place at one-over par 217. Junior Ben Wood finished one stroke behind Bastel in a tie for 22nd place at two-over par 218. Freshmen Nathan Sutherland and Michael Drobnick finished in a tie for 25th place at four-over par 220, while sophomore Andrew Aseltine tied for 36th place at six-over par 222. Sophomore Andrew Mock tied for 49th place.
Middle Tennessee State won the tournament, besting its nearest opponent by 13 strokes and finishing with a team score of 826 for the tournament.
The RedHawks return to action Sept. 24-25 at the Jim Colbert Intercollegiate in Manhattan, Kansas.
