TOLEDO, Ohio--Miami University's women's tennis team picked up wins at No. 3 and No. 4 singles, but those were the only points the RedHawks could muster as they dropped a 5-2 decision to Bowling Green State University at the Shadow Valley Tennis Club in Toledo on Friday afternoon.
The RedHawks dropped to 8-11 overall and 2-3 in Mid-American Conference play, while the Falcons improved to 11-5 overall and 3-1 in MAC play.
Senior Linda Jirouskova posted a dominant 6-0, 6-2 win at No. 3 singles to pick up her second win in MAC action, moving to 2-3 at No. 3 singles in league play and 4-5 on the season. Freshman Kristen McPhillips notched a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 4 singles to improve to improve to 4-1 in MAC play and 7-6 overall at No. 4 singles.
Bowling Green swept all three doubles matches to capture the doubles point in addition to wins at No. 1, No. 2, No. 5 and No. 6 singles.
The RedHawks return to action at Western Michigan at 1 p.m. on Saturday, April 7.
