Notes: Going 5-0 last week, the RedHawks extended their win streak to nine straight and improved to 6-0 in Mid-American Conference action, the best MAC start since the 1979 squad started the season 6-0 ... Miami's nine-game win streak is its longest since winning nine straight in 2005 ... sophomore designated hitter Eric Darlage was tabbed the MAC East Division Player of the Week on Apr. 2 for the second straight week ... Darlage batted .474 for the week with nine hits, including five extra-base hits, six runs and five RBIs ... in its 16-15 come-from-behind win against Ball State, Miami scored its most runs in a game this season, tied its most hits (17) and also hit its most home runs in a game (4) since 2005 ... over the past seven games, Miami is averaging an impressive 13.7 hits per game ... six RedHawks are in double figures for hits during that stretch (Darlage, Jordan Petraitis, Jeff Carroll, Josh Hula, Evan Armitage and Brandon Hillier) ... Carroll also put together a 10-game hitting streak from March 15-March 30 ... two RedHawks are climbing the Miami career charts ... Hillier ranks seventh in career hits (220), eighth in career at-bats (677) and ties for fourth in career triples (11) ... on Friday, junior pitcher John Ely moved into a tie for eighth on the career strikeout list (224) and ties for 10th in career wins (22).

Notes: Miami opened MAC play by posting a 2-2 record and earning wins over Akron and Ohio ... both Miami's wins came via shutout, with the RedHawks blanking Akron, 5-0, on Friday and shutting down Ohio, 1-0, on Sunday ... freshman pitcher Meredith Linch was Miami's most impressive performer over the weekend, as she appeared in all four games (20.0 innings pitched) and notched a 1-1 mark with a 1.40 ERA ... Linch's signature game of the weekend came Sunday against Ohio when she threw a complete-game three-hitter and retired 14 batters in a row in the second through sixth innings ... Miami's pitchers combined to allow only six runs in its MAC-opening weekend, the fewest of any four-game stretch this season, and limit opponents to a .176 batting average ... junior Christine Bills was Miami's top offensive player on Miami's MAC-opening weekend, as she hit a team-best .455 (5-for-11) ... Bills hit safely in Miami's final three games of the weekend, which included a 2-for-3 game with a home run in the RedHawks' 5-0 win over Akron and a 2-for-2 effort in their 1-0 win over Ohio.

Men's Golf
Last Weeks Results: 3/26-27 tied for 12th/17 teams at UALR/First Tee Classic; 3/30-31 finished 3rd/15 teams at EKU Spring Invitational.
Notes: With a third-place finish among the 15-team field at the EKU Spring Invitational, Miami University's golf team posted its best finish of the season and its best finish since a pair of second-place finishes during the 2005-06 season ... Freshman Andrew Aseltine recorded the best finish by a RedHawk this season and the first top-five finish of the season with a fourth-place finish at the EKU Spring Invitational ... Aseltine fired rounds of 73-71-67 to finish at five-under par 211 ... Miami also competed at the UALR/First Tee Classic where it finished in a tie for 12th place among the 17-team field.

Synchronized Skating
Last Weeks Results: 3/30-31 Placed Second at the ISU World Championships
Notes: Posting the highest finish ever for a United Skates skating team, the Miami University senior synchronized skating team turned in a silver-medal finish at the 2007 International Skating Union World Synchronized Skating Championships ... They became the first United States skating team ever to medal at the World Championships ... Miami finished the competition with a second-place point total of 198.71 and trailed only Sweden's Team Surprise in the team standings (222.24) ... on Friday in the short program, the RedHawks posted a total segment score of 69.75, which was the third highest score of the competition ... on Saturday in the free skate, Miami turned in a total segment score of 128.96, which was the second highest score of the competition ... Miami and Team Surprise were the only two teams to finish among the top three in both the free skate and the short program ... Miami has earned a spot in the World Championships in five of the past seven seasons and finished among the top four at the past two World Championships.

Women's Track & Field
Last Weeks Results: 3/31 placed 1st at the Southern Ohio Cup
Notes: The Miami women's track and field team won the Southern Ohio Cup Saturday as it defeated conference rival Ohio and BIG EAST foe Cincinnati ... The RedHawks won nine of the 19 events contested, and its 145 points bested second-place Cincinnati (139) and third-place Ohio (120) ... senior Lashonda Davis posted a pair of wins at the Southern Ohio Cup, as she turned in first-place times in the 100 meters (12.08) and 200 meters (25.18) ... in the track events, sophomores Betsy Allen and Alexis Lape joined Davis as the only individual RedHawks with first-place finishes, as they registered top times in the 400 meters (56.47) and 400-meter hurdles (1:03.51), respectively ... in the field events, Miami received first-place performances from freshman Brittney Bernardoni in the pole vault (12-6), senior Doreen Nagawa in the triple jump (38-10 1/4) and senior Teresa Bis in the hammer throw (159-4).

Men's Track & Field
Last Weeks Results: 3/31 placed 3rd at the Southern Ohio Cup
Notes: The Miami men's track and field team finished third Saturday at the Southern Ohio Cup, with its 112.50 points trailing second-place Cincinnati (142.5) and first-place Ohio (143) ... Miami won six events at the Southern Ohio Cup, led by sophomore Pat Sovacool who placed first in the 800 meters (1:52.69) and 1,500 meters (4:11.98) ... in the track events, junior Michael Veatch was the only other Miamian with a top finish, as he clocked in with a first-place time in the 5,000 meters (14:38.98) ... three RedHawks turned in first-place showings in the field events: junior Jake Kuhner in the pole vault (16-0), junior Bryan Ferres in the javelin (182-10) and senior Tom Herrmann in the high jump (6-8 3/4).

Women's Tennis (8-10; 2-2 MAC)
Last Weeks Results: 3/30 lost to Toledo, 4-3; 3/31 def. Eastern Michigan, 4-3
Notes: Splitting a pair of Mid-American Conference matches last week with a tough 4-3 loss to Toledo and grinding out a 4-3 win against Eastern Michigan, Miami's women's tennis team moved to 2-2 in MAC ... against the Eagles, Miami picked up a key doubles point, winning at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, before capturing hard-fought wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles ... freshman Kristen McPhillips went 2-0 at No. 4 singles, junior Victoria Pulida went 2-0 at No. 5 singles and junior Kelly Douple went 2-0 at No. 6 singles last week ... Pulido and Douple are undefeated in singles play MAC action at 4-0 apiece.
