Women's Diving Team Wraps Up Competition at Zone Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Five Miami University women's divers competed at the Zone C Diving Championships hosted by the University of Michigan this weekend, and the RedHawks received strong showings from all five of its underclassmen. Sophomore Melissa Roemmele was the top Miami finisher on the 3-meter board with a 19th-place finish, and sophomore Alex Enriquez was the top RedHawk on the 1-meter board with a 32nd-place score.
Roemmele was one of four divers to compete on the 3-meter board, and her 19th-place score (229.10) was the highest of any Miamian at the regional diving championships. Enriquez also posted a top-30 finish on the 3-meter board, finishing 27th (216.70), while freshman Rachel Smith and sophomore Erin Jones placed 38th (172.80) and 42nd (142.55), respectively.
On the 1-meter board, Enriquez and Roemmele placed 32nd (206.85) and 33rd (203.85), respectively. Smith (42nd; 175.95), Jones (43rd; 161.50) and freshman Kelsey Anagnos (45th; 136.20) rounded out the Miami scoring contingent.
