Heaton Wraps Up Competition at Zone Championships

ANN ARBOR, Mich. - Sophomore Chris Heaton advanced to finals of the 1-meter dive and placed in the top 30 on the 3-meter board as the Miami University diving team wrapped up competition at the 2007 Zone C Diving Championships hosted by the University of Michigan.
As the only representative from the Miami men's team at the regional diving championships, Heaton placed 15th on the 1-meter board, posting a preliminary score of 271.90 and a finals score of 275.10.
Heaton added a 26th-place finish on the 3-meter board with his preliminary score of 246.95. He did not advance to finals in the 3-meter dive.
The Zone C Diving Championships completed a successful sophomore season for Heaton in which he was named the MAC Diver of the Year for the second straight season and swept the 1- and 3-meter dives at the conference meet.
Heaton has won all four MAC diving titles he has competed for and been named to the all-MAC first team in each of his first two seasons at Miami.
