Heaton Places Second at Hoosierland Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - At the Hoosierland Open, junior diver Chris Heaton placed second the three-meter dive among a talented field of divers from across the nation.
Divers from the Big-Ten, Pac-Ten, and Big East were represented in the event. Heaton qualified with a score of 295.65 in the preliminaries to rank sixth. A 290.80 score in the semifinals qualified him as one of 18 divers to make it to the finals. In the finals, Heaton placed second with a score of 352.40, more than 10 points ahead of third-place finisher, Andrew Brown from Minnesota. Alex Volovetski of Pittsburgh won the three-meter dive by 2.90 points over Heaton.
Miami's men's swimming and diving team is back in action on Friday, Nov. 16, when the RedHawks welcome the Ohio State Buckeyes for a 6 p.m. meet at Nixon Aquatic Center.
