RedHawks fall to Flashes, 2-1

KENT, Ohio - The Miami University field hockey squad dropped a 2-1 decision at Kent State on Saturday afternoon.
Meghan McMurtry had the lone RedHawk goal when she scored on Christine Brightwell's crossing pass in the 21st minute. Kelsey Dean played all 70 minutes in goal, recording six saves.
Miami's ninth loss of the season came despite outshooting the hosts, 10-9 in the game and having six penalty corners to Kent State's five.
Both of the Flashes' goals came from Rachel Miller.
The RedHawks, now 5-9-0 overall and 3-3-0 in the MAC, will travel to Ohio University tomorrow for a 1 p.m. match up with the Bobcats.
