ATHENS, Ga. - Competing in the three-meter dive at the NCAA Championships, Miami University senior Christin Eberst (Clifton Park, N.Y.) tallied a 36th-place finish with a score of 224.60.
On Friday at the Gabrielsen Natatorium, Eberst was the second-highest finisher from the Mid-American Conference, trailing only Rebecca Renkola of Eastern Michigan who placed 27th (271.55). Blythe Hartley from Southern California finished her sweep of the boards by winning the three-meter national title with a tally of 373.15.
The 36th-place finish was Eberst's second-highest career finish on the three-meter board at the NCAA Championships, as her top finish was 32nd in 2004. Eberst's 36th-place showing comes on the heels of her 19th-place finish in the one-meter dive Thursday, her highest finish ever in any diving event at the national meet.
The back-to-back MAC Diver of the Year, Eberst is making her third appearance at the NCAA Diving Championships. She also competed as a freshman in 2003 and as a sophomore in 2004.
