Miami Athletics Responds to Tim Cooper Allegations

OXFORD, Ohio -- Miami University assistant football coach Tim Cooper was arrested and charged with driving under the influence in the early morning hours of Saturday, Feb. 11, 2006.
"These are serious allegations that will not be taken lightly if proven to be true," said Miami University Athletics Director Brad Bates. "We are working to find out the details of the matter and will take action accordingly as information is uncovered."
Cooper will be suspended from his duties indefinitely.
Cooper, 31, finished his third season with the RedHawks this past Fall and his second as a full-time coach. He was a defensive graduate assistant during the 2003 season and was promoted to an assistant coach in 2004.
