RedHawks Wrap Up Final Day at U.S. Open

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. - Competing on the final day of the U.S. Open Championships, Miami University's Paul Ricard and Michael Donohoe placed 32nd and 62nd in the 1,500-meter freestyle and 200-meter butterfly, respectively.
On Saturday at the Boilermaker Aquatic Center, Ricard swam in his third event in three days, placing 32nd in the 1,500-meter freestyle. Ricard clocked in at 16:24.03, finishing fourth in his heat. Over the three-day meet, Ricard finished 46th in the 400-meter freestyle and 52nd in the 200-meter freestyle before his 32nd place showing in the 1,500-meter freestyle.
Donohoe, the defending Mid-American Conference Champion in the 200-yard butterfly, clocked in with a 62nd-place time of 2:11.84. His 50 meter, 100 meter and 150 meter splits were 28.74, 1:01.36 and 1:36.00, respectively.
All told at the U.S. Open, Miami had four swimmers compete in six events, Also swimming at the meet were Blake Norman (54th in 100-meter breaststroke), and Ryan McHugh (39th in 50-meter freestyle).
Miami is off from competition until 2007 when it travels to face Cincinnati on Jan. 16.
