Roemmele Places 10th on 1-Meter Board at Indiana Invitational

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sophomore Melissa Roemmele placed 10th in the 1-meter dive and classmate Alex Enriquez added an 18th-place score as the Miami University diving team wrapped up the first day of the Indiana Invitational.
Roemmele was the top Miamian on the 1-meter board, turning in a score of 236.85 in the finals. Roemmele qualified for the finals, which featured the top 12 divers, with a score of 225.85 in the prelims and a tally of 235.90 in the semifinals.
Enriquez was the only other RedHawk in the meet's top 18, as she placed 18th with a 1-meter score of 215.15. Enriquez tallied a score of 227.10 to advance to the semifinals, but she just missed out on advancing to the finals with Roemmele.
Four additional Miami divers competed in the meet, as freshman Kelsey Anagnos (22nd), sophomore Erin Jones (24th), freshman Rachel Smith (27th) and senior Katie Meister (28th) placed among the top 30 finishers.
Miami resumes diving competition today at Indiana University.
