Heaton Takes Fifth in 1-Meter Dive at Indiana Invite

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - Sophomore Chris Heaton placed fifth in the finals of the 1-meter dive as the Miami University men's diving team wrapped up the second day of competition at the Indiana Invitational. Heaton was the only Miamian to place in the 1-meter finals.
On Saturday at the Counsilman-Billingsley Aquatic Center, Heaton turned in a fifth-place 1-meter score of 320.50. After missing the 3-meter finals one day earlier, Heaton posted a semifinal score of 276.40 to secure his spot in the finals.
A pair of Miami divers narrowly missed the finals on the 1-meter board as senior Eric Teske and junior Ryan Reinke placed 19th (229.70) and 21st (193.60), respectively.
After taking a week off for the holidays, Miami resumes full team action when it hosts the 13th Annual Miami Invitational Nov. 30-Dec. 2.
