Armbruster Solid on Second Day of Georgia Invitational

ATHENS, Ga. - On day two of the Georgia Invitational in Athens, Ga., the Miami University women's swimming and diving team was led by senior Laura Armbruster (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) who placed in the finals of two events, the 400 IM, 100 breast. Through 14 events, the RedHawks stand seventh.
At Garbrielsen Natatorium on Saturday, Armbruster was Miami's top performer with a fifth-place finish in the "B" final of the 400 IM and a sixth-place showing in the "C" final of the 100 breast. Armbruster clocked in at 4:31.79 in the 400 IM while posting a time of 1:07.92 in the 100 breast.
Other Miami swimmers to place in the finals included senior Katie Unger (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) in the 100 breast and junior Maggi Bulla (Cincinnati, Ohio/Ursuline) in the 100 back. Unger was the fifth-place swimmer in the "C" final, while Bulla was third-place finisher (59.20) in the "C" final.
Miami's relay squad also tallied a 12th-place time of 1:49.59 in the 200 medley relay.
The Georgia Invitational resumes Sunday morning with the prelims at 9 a.m. The finals follow at 3 p.m.
