Box Score

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. - In their final regular season game, the Miami University field hockey team allowed a trio of first half goals and was unable to mount a comeback in the second half as the RedHawks (8-11, 5-5 MAC) suffered a 4-0 defeat at the hands of the No. 9 Indiana Hoosiers (14-3, 4-2 Big Ten).

Lydia Schrott started quickly for the Hoosiers, beating freshman goalkeeper Megan Stengel (Louisville, Ky.), who was making her first collegiate stgart, just 9:02 into the contest, staking IU to a 1-0 lead.

Frederique Meeuwsen made it 3-0 for the Hoosiers with a pair of goals less than three minutes apart later in the first half. Her first goal was an unassisted tally at the 22:59 mark with her second goal coming at 25:43. Meeuwsen's second goal chased Stengel from the game in favor of senior Kerri Orr (San Diego, Calif.), who played the game's final 43:11.

Nikki Orciuch completed the scoring, making it 4-0 for Indiana, with her sixth goal of the season at the 54:29 mark.

Indiana outshot Miami, 16-6, and held the edge in penalty corners, 8-4.

Miami's next action will be in the first round of the Mid-American Conference Tournament when the RedHawks battle Missouri State on Nov. 3 in Mt. Pleasant, Mich. Miami earned the No. 3 seed in the tournament by virtue of its third-place finish during the regular season, while Missouri State occupies the No. 6 seed. The RedHawks and the Bears met twice this season, with each team winning on its own field.

Game time for Miami's contest versus Missouri State will made available as soon as it is released by the league office.
