OXFORD, Ohio - Playing the first televised soccer game in school history, the Miami University women's soccer team (4-5-0, 2-2-0 MAC) allowed three first-half goals to the Bowling Green Falcons (7-4-0, 2-2-0 MAC) as they dropped a 3-1 decision at Miami Soccer Field on Sunday afternoon. In the game--which will be broadcast on a tape-delay basis on Time Warner Cable at a date and time to be determined on Monday morning--the Falcons tallied goals in the 23rd, 32nd and 44th minutes as they mounted a three-goal lead Miami was unable to overcome.

The Falcons' Britt Anderson got the scoring going at 22:16 off an assist from Samantha Meister, and a pair of goals by Corbie Yee, including her game winner at 31:42, proved too steep of a deficit for the RedHawks.

Miami scored its lone goal in the 87th minute as junior Kathleen Vistica (Monrovia, Md./Urbana), the team's leading scorer, knocked home a header off a free kick from junior Aimee Prevallet (Fairfax Station, Va./Centreville). Prevallet's free kick from the near sideline found Vistica in a crowd of players in front of the net, and she snuck her header by the Bowling Green keeper for her team-leading fourth goal of the year.

In the opening five minutes of the game, Miami had the opportunity to seize control of the game with two quality scoring chances, but shots on goal by sophomores Lindy Slinger (Dublin, Ohio/Coffman) and Jennifer Rush (Hilliard, Ohio/Davidson) were both snuffed out by diving saves from the Falcons Ali Shingler.

Miami was outshot 11-9 in the contest but held the advantage in corner kicks, 5-3.

The RedHawks start a four-game road stretch next weekend when they visit Eastern Michigan (Oct. 7) and Central Michigan (Oct. 9).
