Team Effort Leads Miami over Ohio: The RedHawks had little trouble with the visiting Ohio Bobcats last Friday evening at the Nixon Aquatic Center, winning 177-119. Miami won 12 of the 16 events without having a repeat individual winner. On Senior Night in Oxford, senior Jason Krasula helped bring home a win for the Class of 2005 by taking the 500 Free and Miami showcased its future as the other nine individual winners will be back next year.
Showdown with Eastern Michigan Friday: The winner of 23 of the last 25 Mid-American Conference titles hosts the only team that has kept it from being a perfect quarter-century for Eastern Michigan when Miami travels to Ypsilanti, Mich., on Friday.
Last Year's Miami-EMU Battle: Miami won six of the 13 events on Feb. 7, 2004, in Oxford, but Eastern Michigan won the meet, 147-96. Peter Donohue, who swept the diving competitions, and Griffin Marshall, who won the 200 Breast, are the only two Miamians to win events against EMU last year to compete during the 2004-05 season.
A Look at the Eagles: EMU is the only other undefeated team in the conference, standing at 2-0 with wins over Ohio and Buffalo. The Eagles are the last dual meet on the slate for Miami.
