HAMILTON, Ohio - One day after breezing through a match against local rival Cincinnati, the Miami women's tennis team watched its Mid-American Conference record even at 1-1 after dropping a close match, 4-3, to the visiting Eastern Michigan Eagles.
Miami's string of matches winning the double's point continued against the Eagles, but four of six single's matches went to the visitor.
Senior Megan Zimpfer (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) continued her fine play at No. 3 singles by defeating EMU's Lincaru, 6-3 and 6-4 for the straight-set win. Also notching a single's victory for the Red and White was sophomore Maura Trauernicht. Trauernicht won her match in straight sets with 6-3 and 7-5 wins.
