Robson Named MAC Swimmer Of The Week

OXFORD, Ohio - Sophomore Scott Robson (Glen Ellyn, Ill./Glenbard South) was named Mid-American Conference Male Swimmer of the Week for the week of Feb. 9, the league office announced today. It is Robson's first career honor, while it is the fourth of the season for Miami men's swimming & diving.
Against Ohio on Friday, Jan. 30, Robson won two individual events and one team event in the 800 freestyle relay. In the 1000 free, he posted a career-best time of 9:46.53 while taking top honors. He also paced the field in the 500 free, hitting the wall in 4:44.75. In the final event of the evening, Robson swam the first leg of the 800 free relay which completed the distance in 7:04.88. The RedHawks defeated Ohio, 138-105, to remain in first place in the MAC standings.
Robson follows teammates , Peter Donahue (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin), Andrew Keefe (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) and Paul Ricard (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green) who all have earned the award this season. Keefe (Nov. 3) and Donahue (Nov. 10) were selected in back-to-back weeks, as Ricard was honored two weeks later (Nov. 24).
Miami hosts Eastern Michigan in a first-place showdown on Saturday, Feb. 7, at the Nixon Aquatic Center. Both teams' records sit at 6-3, with 3-0 marks in league action. The RedHawks and Eagles hit the water at 1 p.m.
