Koch Earns MAC Female Swimmer Of The Week Honor

OXFORD, Ohio - Sophomore Ellen Koch (Pittsburgh, Pa./Mt. Lebanon) has been named this week's Mid-American Conference Female Swimmer of the Week, the league office announced today. It is Koch's first career honor and the second for the RedHawks this season.
Koch won two events at the Midwest Classic, leading the RedHawks to the MCC Championship. On day one, Koch topped both the preliminaries and finals of the 200 individual medley, posting a time of 2:09.46 in the championship heat. She also swept the prelims and finals in the 100 butterfly the next day, hitting the wall in 58.07.
Sophomore Katie Forster (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) was the first RedHawk honored this season, earning the honor for the week of Feb, 9.
The RedHawks host the 2004 MAC Championships this weekend, Feb. 26-28. Miami is the two-time defending champion and is seeking an unprecedented 14th MAC title.
