STORYLINES:
1. The RedHawks are after back-to-back Miami Invitational wins after knocking off 10 other schools last year. In 2002-03, Miami finished fourth in the yearly meet.
2. Miami has won four of its last five multi-team competitions heading into the Miami Invite. With the only loss in that stretch coming in the Indiana Invitational, Nov. 19-21., the streak encompasses the 2003 MAC Championships, 2003 Miami Invitational, 2004 Midwest Conference Championships and 2004 MAC Championships.
3. The Miami Invite is the last competition for the RedHawks for more than a month, following finals week and winter break. When competition resumes, Miami goes for a sweep of the other three Division I swimming and diving programs in Southwest Ohio against Cincinnati. Wright State and Xavier fell to Miami on Nov. 19 and 20, respectively.
COACH'S CORNER: Dave Jennings enters his 23rd season at Miami having won 13 of Miami's 14 MAC Championships. He has presided over the RedHawks' current 24-meet MAC winning streak that extends more than three years. In his 22 seasons, Miami has a 94-21 record in MAC competition, and four Miami classes (`86, `87, `88, `99) have graduated knowing nothing other than winning a conference title. In the past 11 seasons, Miami has taken home either the team gold or silver, and none of Jennings' 22 Miami squads have finished lower than fourth at the conference meet. Individually, Jennings has coached his athletes to 172 individual or relay gold medals. One of those individual golds returns this year with Laura Armbruster, the defending 100 breaststroke champ, and Miami's victorious 400 medley relay foursome also remains intact. Jennings aims to make the Class of 2005 the fifth perfect class in Miami history.
