Miami's Last Time Out: The RedHawks split two meets last weekend, losing to Ohio State, 139-97, but earning a MAC win in its first opportunity over Buffalo, 147-82. Against Ohio State, the Buckeyes touched the wall first in 11 of the 13 events, with junior Scott Robson claiming the other two events--the 200 Fly and 500 Free--for Miami. Things were turned around on Saturday, however, as Miami trounced Buffalo, 147-82. The RedHawks' lead grew to 147-58 before Miami swam the last two events exhibition. Even more encouraging for Miami was the team effort that led to the win. Of the 11 event wins including individual and relay events, Miami placed 15 competitors on the winners' stand. Only Brian O'Rourke won more than one individual event, taking the 200 and 500 Free races.
Last Season Against Ball State: Miami won, 136-105, on Nov. 8, 2003 at the Nixon Aquatic Center over the Cardinals. The RedHawks' two individual champions at the 2004 MAC meet, Peter Donohue and Andrew Keefe, had big days against Ball State, winning two events each. Keefe won the 50 free and 100 free, and Donohue won both the one-meter and three-meter diving events. Also winning for Miami were Jason Krasula, Scott Robson, Paul Ricard, Griffin Marshall, and the 400 free relay team of Keefe, Ricard, Brian O'Rourke and Justin Marcy. All of the above return this year except Keefe.
Storylines:
1. After winning its first MAC dual meet on Saturday, Miami gets the chance to move to 2-0 in the conference with a win over Ball State this weekend. If Miami wins, it marks the 350th dual meet win in program history.
2. Head coach Pete Lindsay gets to see if the true team effort that Miami showed on Saturday in earning a wide-margin victory with 15 different RedHawks claiming victory will have the same result against Ball State.
Coach's Corner: Pete Lindsay enters his 20th season at Miami having led Miami to 17 top-three finishes at the MAC Championships in his 19 previous seasons. In 1997 and 1999, Lindsay guided Miami to its last two conference titles, and the RedHawks have been the only team to knock Eastern Michigan off the top of the MAC podium since 1980. Last season, Lindsay helped Miami to a 4-1 record in the MAC and boasted a three-time gold medalist in Andrew Keefe, who won the 50, 100 and 200 Free races at the 2004 MAC meet. Lindsay has coached 74 Mid-American Conference individual champions, seven MAC Men's Swimmers of the Year and two of Miami's six MAC Championship teams. He has garnered four MAC Coach of the Year awards, earning the honor in 1991, 1994, 1996 and 1999. Lindsay, who teaches in the physical education department, is the only Miami head coach that is a full-time instructor at the university.

Scouting Report - Ball State
Ball State's Last Time Out:
Other than its Red and White exhibition meet, the Cardinals have competed just once, at the Indiana Intercollegiate at Purdue. Other schools competing at the meet were the University of Indianapolis, Butler, IUPUI and Valparaiso. Against Miami last year, Leer won the 200 Free.
