Women's Swimming & Diving Rolls At Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - Sophomore Christin Eberst (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa) and junior Trisha Lamb (Oregon, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) won two events each to lead Miami University's women's swimming & diving team to a conference dual meey victory over Bowling Green Friday afternoon in Bowling Green. The win is the RedHawks' (10-1, 6-0 MAC) 10th straight, and 22nd consecutive in league action.
Eberst combined with teammate Heidi Willemssen (Prior Lake, Minn./Lakeville) to take the top two positions in both the one- and three-meter diving events. From the one-meter board, Eberst scored 262.50 points, just ahead of Willemssen's 258.90 total and almost 50 points ahead of the top BGSU diver in third place. Eberst topped the three-meter event with 277.13 points, with her senior colleague close behind with 258.90 points.
Both the 100 and 200 backstroke events were taken by Lamb, who also teamed with the first-place 200 medley relay. In the 100 back, Lamb posted a time of 1:00.13, while hitting the wall in 2:01.01 to win the 200 back. Joining Lamb on the relay was sophomore Katie Unger (Hartland, Wis./Arrowhead) and juniors Christel Frantz (Westlake, Ohio/Westlake) and Cortney Dice (Pittsburgh, Pa./Hampton). The quartet finished the distance in 1:50.17. Unger and Frantz each were victorious in individual events, as Unger won the 100 breaststroke and Frantz finished first in the 100 freestyle. The pair posted times of 1:07.22 and 53.85, respectively.
Sophomore Laura Armbruster (North Royalton, Ohio/North Royalton) led a contingent of three RedHawks atop the field in the 200 individual medley, where she won with a time of 2:09.19. Behind Armbruster was Unger in second and sophomore Katie Forster (Centerville, Ohio/Centerville) in third. Forster won the 200 free for Miami, finishing in 1:54.62. The Red and White had swimmers in the top three spots in the 1000 free, as well. Senior Liz Roble (Englewood, Colo./Kent) was the victor, while junior Julie Madden (Canton, Ohio/Hawken) and freshman Amber Kerek (Hudson, Ohio/Hudson) rounded out the top three, respectively.
Miami closes out its conference season, hosting Ohio on Friday, Feb. 6, and Marshall on Feb. 7. The RedHawks are looking for their third straight undefeated regular conference season, and hit the pool at 5 p.m. on Friday and 4 p.m. on Saturday.
