Men's Swimming Falls At Ohio State

COLUMBUS, Ohio - Freshman Paul Ricard (Bowling Green, Ohio/Bowling Green) won the 1650 freestyle, but it wasn't enough, as Miami University's men's swimming & diving team fell to Ohio State, 151-86, Saturday afternoon in Columbus.
Ricard hit the wall in a time of 15:56.56 to pace the field by almost 17 seconds ahead of the next finisher.Sophomore Scott Robson (Glen Ellyn, Glenbard South) was the next RedHawk to finish, taking third in 16:30.68. Robson, who had won events at five consecutive meets, failed to win an event, but had a strong showing against the tought Big Ten competition. He also took second in the 500 freestyle, posting a time of 4:47.36.
Senior Andrew Keefe (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Xavier) also swam strong, taking third place in the 200 individual medley, finishing with a time of 1:57.69.
Today's meet was the second in less than 24 hours for the RedHawks, who swept Cincinnati and Kenyon at the Corwin M. Noxon Center on Friday night. The Red and White have next weekend off before traveling to Athens, Ohio for a conference dual meet with Ohio. Miami is 2-0 in league action this season.
