Women's Swimming Announces New Fundraiser

OXFORD, Ohio - Head coach Dave Jennings announced today that members of Miami University's women's swimming and diving team will wash cars as part of a fundraiser. The RedHawks will work for the Thunderbird Auto Wash & Detail Center in West Chester, Ohio, on select Saturdays during the month of September.
In conjunction with Thunderbird Auto Wash, the swimmers and divers will wash cars from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sept. 6, 13 and 27. For their efforts, the program will receive 10 pecent of daily profit. Car washes start at $9.57 for "Thunderbird Full Service" and go as high as the "Thunderbird Ultra Wash" that costs $16.20.

The RedHawks are coming off their 13th MAC Championship and 12th under Jennings. Miami returns 28 letterwinners, including senior Amy Miranda (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) and sophomore Christin Eberst (Clifton Park, NY/Shenendehowa), who both qualified for the NCAA Championships in 2003, as well as junior Trisha Lamb (Oregon, Ohio/Notre Dame Academy) who was the 2003 MAC Champion in both the 100 and 200 backstroke. The Red and White begin their season, Oct. 17, at the Tom Stubbs Relay in Bowling Green, Ohio.
