DEKALB, Ill. -- The Miami women's tennis team dropped its third straight Mid-American Conference match today losing at Northern Illinois, 5-2.
Sophomore Nancy Wiegand and freshman Maura Trauernicht captured Miami's two points, winning their singles matches 6-4, 6-1 and 6-2, 6-1, respectively. In doubles, the RedHawks managed just eight points, with the No. 1 tandem of freshman Remy Swain and senior Megan Zimpfer scoring half of the points in an 8-4 defeat.
Miami is now 8-11 on the season and 3-4 in MAC play. The RedHawks close out the regular season next weekend with a road trip to Eastern Michigan on Friday and Toledo on Saturday. Both matches are slated to begin at 1 p.m.
