Junior Amy Miranda (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) and freshman Christin Eberst (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa) closed the swimming season against the top competition in the nation in Auburn, Ala. at the 2003 NCAA Division I Women's Swimming & Diving Championships on Friday and Saturday.
Miranda placed 33rd in the 1650-yard freestyle on Saturday evening with a time of 16:47.50. Miranda ended a highly successful season where she earned first-team all-Mid-American Conference for the third consecutive year as she helped the RedHawks defend their MAC championship crown.
Eberst placed 41st with a score of 191.25 in the prelims for the three-meter diving event on Friday. Eberst's NCAA run finished an extremely successful first year. During the regular season, Eberst did not lost a three-meter diving competition between Nov. 16, 2002 through Feb. 8, 2003 and placed first in at least one event in every diving meet except three this season.
