RedHawks Defeat Wright State, 154-89

DAYTON, Ohio-Miami University's women's swimming and diving team topped Wright State on Friday (Nov. 21), 154-89.The RedHawks improve to 4-1 with the win.
The RedHawks opened the meet with junior Trisha Lamb, sophomore Katie Unger, sophomore Laura Armbruster and sophomore Maggi Bulla winning the 400 Medley Relay in a time of 3:58.07. Armbruster, Unger and Lamb swept the 200 Individual Medley, respectively capturing the top three spots in times of 2:09.37, 2:10.88 and 2:12.30. Bulla and Lamb teamed up to capture the top two finishes in the 200 Backstroke with respective times of 2:08.56 and 2:09.29.
Sophomore Katie Forster posted first-place finishes in the 1,000 Freestyle in 10:28.08 and the 200 Butterfly in a time of 2:07.57. Forester paced a Miami sweep in the 200 Butterfly as junior Michelle Reynolds and junior Christen Fout finished second and third, respectively.
The RedHawks also seized the top three finished in the 500 Freestyle led by senior Amy Miranda's first-place finish in a time of 5:09.82. Junior Julie Madden and senior Elizabeth Roble rounded out the top three spots for the RedHawks. Freshman Sarah Baumert posted a win in the 200 Breaststroke in a time of 2:25.62.
In the diving events, sophomore Christen Eberst claimed the one- and three-meter events, scoring 248.77 points in the one-meter event and 260.55 points in the three-meter dive. Senior Heidi Willemssen placed second in both events, while freshman Katie Meister placed third in the one-meter event.
