OXFORD, Ohio - Miami University women's swimming & diving head coach Dave Jennings announced the first signing of the early signing period today. Lauren Evanosky (Westport, Conn./Staples) became the first member of the 2004-05 freshman class with the filing of her National Letter of Intent this afternoon.
As a junior, Evanosky earned all-America status in the 100 backstroke. She also claimed class 'L' state championships in both the 100 back and 200 individual medley as both a sophomore and junior. She also was a YMCA National finalist in both the 100 and 200 back, and the 200 and 400 IM.
"Lauren will make an impact in our conference from the moment she steps on campus," said Jennings. "We are truly excited about her potential to become a go-to swimmer for our team and she will help solidify our backstroke corps."
