- Luke Clemen's one-yard scoring run with 10:49 left in the first quarter marked the first time this season Miami has scored on its opening drive of the game.
- Miami racked up 51 rushing yards in the first quarter, eclipsing its combined total of the last two games.
- Miami's 14 points in the first quarter are the most they have scored in any quarter this year.
- Miami's 49 rushing attempts to 31 passing attempts marked Miami's second time in the past six games that the RedHawks have had more rushing attempts than passing attempts.
- Joshua Cribb's 34-yard touchdown is the longest rushing play the RedHawks have allowed this year.
- Miami's win over Kent State marks the eighth consecutive time that the RedHawks have opened the MAC season with a victory.

- Senior Eddie Tillitz's 32-yard punt return in the first quarter almost quadrupled his season total after three games (9).
- Sophomore quarterback Ben Roethlisberger, with one touchdown today, has thrown at least one touchdown in 15-of-16 career starts. Roethlisberger sparked the RedHawks third-quarter comeback with a 6-of-7 performance in the period for 70 yards and a touchdown
- Sophomore wide receiver Michael Larkin has caught a pass in his first 15 career games, including eight touchdowns.
- Senior wide out Jason Branch has now caught at least one pass in 21 straight games.
- Senior wide receiver Eddie Tillitz pulled in a season-high four passes for 40 yards. Tillitz had a streak of 14 straight games with a catch ended last week at LSU.
- Junior defensive lineman Phil Smith picked off his second career interception against the Flashes in the third quarter.
- Junior running back Luke Clemens picked up his third career 100-yard rushing game, going for 149 yards on 30 carries and two touchdowns. All three marks are new career best.
- Head Coach Terry Hoeppner is the third coach in school history to win his first four MAC openers. Ara Parseghian and John Pont both won their first five.
- Kent State quarterback Joshua Cribbs' 126 yards rushing and 189 yards passing marks the fourth time he has had over 100 yards passing and rushing in the same game.
- Kent State receiver Darrell Dowery's 98 yards on seven receptions is a career high.
