Finishing the season with a 12-2 record and 7-1Mid-American Conference mark, the men's team tied the 1966-67 and 1974-75 teams' records for most wins in a season. The RedHawks finished second in the MAC Championship. Five swimmers were named to the Academic all-MAC team and three other swimmers were placed on the MAC Academic Honor Roll. Jason Finck (Villa Hills, Ky./Beechwood) and Ryan Gandre (Dublin, Ohio/Dublin Coffman) shared Miami Male Scholar-Athlete of the Year plaudits.
With 14-1 overall record and 8-0 MAC mark, Miami's women's swimming team boasted its best dual meet record in program history and its first undefeated season in the MAC since 1997. The RedHawks also claimed their 12th conference championship. Eleven swimmers were named to the Academic all-MAC team and two other swimmers were placed on the MAC Academic Honor Roll.
Reynolds, an early childhood education major, was named to the all-MAC first team during her freshman campaign. Her time of 2:03.10 in the 200 butterfly during the MAC Championships was enough to make the NCAA "B" cut.
Nayes, who recently graduated with a speech pathology and audiology degree, garnered first-team all-MAC accolades for the third year in a row, following her performance at the MAC meet, in which she took home two individual championships, met two NCAA qualifying standards, set three school records and helped the RedHawks capture their 12th MAC crown. She won the 200 breaststroke and 400 individual medley titles, made the NCAA 'B' cut in the 200 and 400 IM, and established Miami records in both of those events as well as the 800 medley relay, which placed third. Nayes also was named a third-team Verizon Academic All-District IV University Division Women's At-Large selection, the Miami Female Scholar-Athlete of the Year, and was on the Academic all-MAC team.
