Golf Team Finishes in 14th Place at Conrad Rehling Invitational

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - Miami University's golf team posted a 14th-place finish at the Conrad Rehling Invitational at the Capstone Club in Tuscaloosa, Ala. The RedHawks totaled 891 shots in the three-round, 14-team invitational.
Senior Mike Sabo paced the RedHawks, shooting a 72 in each round on the par 71 course to finish in a tie for 19th place. Junior Eric Phipps and sophomore Mike Slaven shot identical rounds (77-74-73) to tie for 46th place at 11-over par. Junior Mark Weghorst started the tournament off with a 77 and shot a team-low 71 in the second round, but finished with a 79 in the third round to land in a 57th-place tie at 14-over par. Sophomore Brent Kriegshauser rounded out the Miami five, finishing in 70th place.
Minnesota won the team title at five-under par as a team, while UAB's Graeme McDowell emerged in the final round to take individual medalist honors. He finished at 12-under par.
Miami returns to action at the Johnny Owens Invitational March 29-31 in Lexington, Ky.
