As the Miami men's swimming and diving squad entered their second meet of the 2002 season, two facts remain unchanged. The fact remained that the young RedHawk team will continue to season with age and senior Kelly Ball has dominated his past two opponents.
The Red and White fell to Ball State University 146-97 in the Saturday afternoon meet in Muncie, Ind.
Ball has won all five individual races that he swam in during the opening weekend. The senior took first in the 100-yard and 200-yard freestyle events on Saturday. Senior Andy Norr also took home two first place finishes when he touched the wall first in the 500- and 1000-yard freestyle.
Miami also claimed first place in both diving events with sophomore Peter Donohue winning the one-meter event and freshman Nick Kleinert receiving the top score in the three-meter dive.
The RedHawks host the Toledo Rockets next Friday in Mid-American Conference action at 6 p.m. in the Corwin M. Nixon Aquatic Center.
