Miami Athletics Announces Promotions Of Media Relations Staff

OXFORD, Ohio (Aug. 3) - Miami University Assistant Athletic Director for External Affairs and Director of Media Relations Mike Wolf announced today the promotion of Vince Frieden to publications coordinator/assistant media relations director and Burt Lauten to assistant media relations director.
Frieden, a 1998 graduate of the University of South Dakota and native of West Bend, Iowa, has served as an intern in the Miami Media Relations Department since August of 1998. He will be in charge of the graphic design work for many of Miami Athletics promotional pieces and will be the primary contact for ice hockey and synchronized skating.
Lauten, a 1999 graduate of Westminster College (Pa.) and native of Ellwood City, Pa., joined the Miami staff as an intern in the athletic media relations department in June of 1999. His primary sports will be women?s basketball, baseball and field hockey, in addition to handling extra duties with football.
"Vince and Burt have done a tremendous job for us as interns and are well-liked by the coaches and staff," said Wolf. "It is nice to be able to keep them on board in a full-time capacity."
