RedHawks Defeat Buffalo; Fall To Eastern Michigan

OXFORD, Ohio (Feb. 5) Miami University's women's swimming team split a pivotal Mid-American Conference meet at Buffalo by defeating the Bulls (5-6, 3-5) 200-97, while falling to Eastern Michigan (8-3, 6-2) 176-124.
Sophomore Emily Nayes (Eden Prairie, Minn./Eden Prairie) swam a season-best time in capturing the 200 breaststroke (2:23.90). Sophomore Hillary Mason (Cedar Falls, Iowa/Cedar Falls) won the 500 freestyle (5:03.78) and junior Cassie Eakins (Xenia, Ohio/Xenia) dove to a first-place finish in the one-meter diving event with a season-high 244.35 points.
The RedHawks (7-8, 6-2) will not swam again until the MAC Championships, which will be held on February 24-26 at Ohio University.
