RedHawks Fall Short At First Home Swim Meet

OXFORD, Ohio (Nov. 3) -- Miami University's women's swimming team fell short on Friday night, losing its home opener to Kenyon, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame. The RedHawks lost to Kenyon 150-142, 196-98 to Notre Dame and 157-126 to Pittsburgh.
Freshman Casey Mangano (Cincinnati, Ohio/St. Ursula) was the lone RedHawk to take home a first-place award. Mangano took top honors in the 200 breaststroke, finishing with a time of 2:24.65.
Freshman Amy Miranda (Louisville, Ky./Sacred Heart Academy) swam to a second-place finish in the 1,650 freestyle (17:14.80) and a third place in the 500 freestyle (5:05.84). Senior Molly Weithorn (Cincinnati, Ohio/McAuley) swam to a third-place finish in the 400 IM with a time of 4:34.83.
The RedHawks are back in action on tomorrow as they travel to Muncie, Ind. to take on Ball State and Northern Illinois.
