Women's Swimming Loses To Wright State

DAYTON, Ohio (Nov. 12) - Miami's men's swimming team earned a 129-112 dual meet win over area-rival Wright State, while a split women's team dropped a narrow 122-115 decision.
Three RedHawks swimmers led the way with multiple first-place finishes. Kevin Mulgrew (Malden, Mass./Malden Catholic) dominated the men's distance events, sweeping the 500- and 1,000- yard freestyle races. Miami's divers were also dominant, with Cassie Eakins (Xenia, Ohio/Xenia) sweeping the women's one- and three-meter dives and Andrew Campbell (Cincinnati, Ohio/Turpin) winning the men's one- and three-meter events.
Other wins on the men's side were collected by Bill Steel (Kingwood, Texas/Kingwood), who captured the 50-yard freestyle, John Carroll (Toledo, Ohio/St. Francis), who won the 200-yard butterfly and Donald Smith (Louisville, Ky./St. Xavier) who captured first in the 200-yard breaststroke. Megan Wyatt (Barrington, R.I./Barrington) captured the only other individual title for the women, winning the 200 breaststroke.
