Miami Redhawks

Roberto Gallegos is in his fourth year on the Miami Soccer staff and was promoted to associate head coach in 2025.

Miami is coming off an 8-5-6 season (4-3-4 in Mid-American Conference play), including the program’s first unbeaten home season since 1999. The Red and White earned the fifth seed in the 2024 MAC tournament, advancing to postseason play for the second time in three years, and produced three All-MAC selections: Taylor Hamlett (First Team), Jamie Hlebec (Second Team) and Maris Jennings (All-Freshman Team).
 
Hamlett and Hlebec were named to the United Soccer Coaches NCAA Division I All-Midwest Region Team, earning Second-Team and Fourth-Team honors, respectively. Miami also had eight student-athletes recognized as Academic All-MAC and six as CSC Academic All-District.

In 2023, the RedHawks won their final four matches of the fall to finish 8-10-1 (5-6 MAC) in the 2023 campaign. Five players were named Academic All-District, with 10 RedHawks earning Acacdemic All-MAC honors. Camber Hayes was named All-MAC Second Team, with Dominique Popa and Morhéa Hoefen picking up All-Freshman accolades.

Gallegos' first season with the RedHawks saw Miami finish above .500 for the first time in seven years, compiling a 9-5-6 overall record. The 2022 RedHawks lost just twice in Mid-American Conference regular-season play, earning their first MAC Tournament berth since 2016 and then winning at Ohio to advance to the tournament semifinals.
 
Miami produced three All-MAC players (as well as an All-Freshman pick), 10 Academic All-MAC honorees, six CSC Academic All-District selections, three All-Ohio choices and two Academic All-Ohio standouts in 2022.
 
Midfielder Camber Hayes claimed Second-Team All-Region honors and was later named the 2023 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar of the Year, becoming the first MAC student-athlete ever to win that prestigious award. Goalkeeper Izzie Vaccari posted 10 shutouts for the Red and White, one off the program record, as Miami yielded just 0.70 goals per game.

Before coming to Oxford, Gallegos worked with the AHFC Royals as an assistant coach in the Women's Premier Soccer League. His squad captured the Red River Conference Championship in 2021.
 
He had previously spent time as the Albion Hurricanes' Girls ECRL Director (beginning in 2019), with prior stops at FC Denton (head coach, 2018) and Oklahoma Wesleyan (assistant coach, 2014-15).
 
Gallegos earned his degree in psychology from Oklahoma Wesleyan in 2016. He was a standout for the Eagles, earning first-team all-conference in 2013 and helped his team to a pair of national tournament appearances.
