Sahar Nusseibeh completed her second year as an assistant coach at Miami after being named to Hendrix's staff on July 1, 2019.
In 2019-20, the RedHawks finished with an 11-20 overall record and a 4-14 conference record as they were fifth in the MAC East. The Red and White picked up a power-five win with an 80-71 decision at Pittsburgh on Dec. 17. This past season Miami battled injuries and finished the year 4-20 overall.
Three Miami players received all-conference honors following the conclusion of the regular season as Lauren Dickerson was named All-MAC Second Team, Savannah Kluesner was named All-MAC Third Team and Peyton Scott was named MAC All-Freshman Team. Dickerson became Miami’s all-time leading scorer in addition to breaking five other Miami career records and one single-season record. Kluesner broke the program record for single-season double-doubles (14) and Miami’s single-game block record (7).
Nusseibeh came to Oxford from Manhattan College, where she served as the associate head coach last season after serving as an assistant coach the previous two seasons. She was also the recruiting coordinator, defensive coordinator and worked mostly with the posts while with the Jaspers. Nusseibeh coached the program's all-time leader in blocks in Kayla Grimme as Grimme is one of two players in program history to reach both 1,300 career points and 900 career rebounds.
Nusseibeh has taken part in many professional development opportunities, including the 2017 BDS Agency Head Coaching Training Center, the "A Step Up" Assistant Coaching Symposium in Charlotte, N.C., the Assistant Coaches Immersion Program in Denver, Colo. and the U.S. Marine Corps Coaches Leadership Workshop in Quantico, Va. – being just one of 30 assistant coaches to do so. Nusseibeh was named to the top Thirty Under 30 list by the Women's Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) in 2016. She also graduated from the NCAA's Women Coaches Academy and participated in the WBCA's Center for Coaching Excellence.
Nusseibeh previously did a three-year stint in the MAC, serving as an assistant coach at Bowling Green before coaching at Manhattan. She helped lead the Falcons to a regular season title during her first season at Bowling Green as well as 30 wins – the second-most in school history. BGSU also reached the quarterfinals of the WNIT in 2014-15.
Nusseibeh began her collegiate coaching career as a graduate assistant at Cincinnati, where she was the video coordinator, academic liaison and assisted in coaching the post players. She then spent two seasons at Holy Cross as an assistant coach where she also did video operations and worked with the posts. Prior to beginning her collegiate coaching career, Nusseibeh completed internships with the WNBA's Atlanta Dream (2007) and Washington Mystics (2009) and worked with USA Basketball on preparing the U19 World University Games teams for competitions in Thailand and Serbia.
Nusseibeh was a four-year letterwinner at American University, where she played 116 games during her career. She was named All-Rookie Team by the Patriot League in 2005-06 before leading her team to two regular season titles and a pair of WNIT appearances – the first two postseason berths in program history.
Nusseibeh is a native of Uniontown, Ohio and earned a bachelor's degree in international relations and international business from American in 2009. She earned a master's degree in business administration from Cincinnati in 2011.
