Matt Lynch enters his third season as the Miami women's basketball video operations director. Lynch came to the RedHawks after spending the previous three years as an assistant on the men's basketball staff at Edinboro University.
Lynch handles many duties behind the scenes for the Miami women's basketball team. As video coordinator, he manages the video editing and film breakdown. He also is an academic coach who monitors the student-athletes' progress towards graduation, is in charge of fundraising for the team, directs the annual golf outing and is the director of the team shootout.
In addition, Lynch supervises the managers and male practice team, two groups that consists of over 30 Miami graduate and undergraduate students. He also., handles marketing duties for the RedHawks as they look to increase fan attendance and engagement. He is the social media coordinator for the `Hawks, and manages the teams Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat accounts.
During the summer of 2015, Lynch served as an interim assistant coach for the RedHawks. His responsibilities included recruiting, on-court coaching and working with both the guards and post players.
"Matt brings great energy and enthusiasm to our staff," said Wright. "He is a relentless worker and has a strong desire to learn. He is a great fit for the position here at Miami."
Lynch has directed several basketball camps from the Midwest throughout the East Coast. Lynch earned his undergraduate degree at Edinboro University in Health and Physical Education in 2013. During his time at Edinboro, he also served as the varsity boys' assistant coach at Ft. Leboeuf High School in Waterford, Pa. Lynch went on to earn his Master's Degree in Sport Psychology from Miami in May 2015.
