Roosevelt Jackson returned to his alma mater as an assistant coach entering the 2016-17 season.
Jackson brings a decade of coaching experience from both the high school and collegiate level to Oxford. Most recently, he served as the head men’s and women’s track and field/cross country coach at Mount Saint Joseph University.
At the prep level, Jackson led Pike High School to its first ever sectional title, producing 12 state qualifiers that included a state champion in the group. At an earlier stop with Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School, Jackson guided the team to four-straight Indianapolis All-Catholic League Championships. While juggling coaching responsibilities, Jackson also is a certified fitness and nutrition coach for the National Exercise and Sports Trainers Association.
A standout during his time at Miami, Jackson set the school record holder in the 1500m (3:41.00) in 1984 and his record held until Andrew Dusing cleared it at the NCAA Outdoor Championships in 2017. He was also an All-MAC performer during his time with the Red & White.
Jackson graduated from Miami with a degree in consumer service in 1986. He currently resides in Dayton.
