OXFORD, Ohio — The Miami University soccer team narrowly lost 3-2 against Louisiana State University Sunday night. Freshman Coltie Carson scored her first and second career goals in the second half to bring the game down to the wire. The RedHawks are now 3-4-0 with the result. LSU is now 2-5-1.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- A Millie Cook breakaway presented a great opportunity for the RedHawks in the seventh minute, but LSU made a diving save.
- In the 15th minute, LSU took the lead off a shot from across the box by Berglind Hlynsdottir, 1-0.
- Dominique Popa made a full extension, diving save to her left in the 20th minute.
- The visitors added to their lead in the 35th minute off a shot from Ava Galligan, 2-0.
- Miami got on the board in the 55th minute off a corner kick by Maris Jennings, shot into the bottom right corner by Carson, 2-1.
- Ava Boyd had an open shot from the center of the box but it was saved in the 65th minute.
- In the 66th minute, Cook had a great opportunity off her left foot from a through-ball by Averie Bierker, but the attempt was stopped.
- LSU tallied another goal in the 68th minute from a converted penalty kick by Ava Amsden, 3-1.
- Miami's Bierker won a penalty kick in the 81st minute that was converted by Carson, 3-2, but Miami was unable to close the gap in the final nine minutes.

- Carson scored the first and second goals of her career.
- Natalka Superson made her collegiate debut in the 76th minute.
- Jennings assisted in back-to-back games for the second time in her career.
